Roaster: The Internet’s First Roast-to-Earn System

Version 1.1 — October 2025

What is a Roast Market?

A Roast Market is the core unit of the Roaster platform, a themed arena where users compete by posting their funniest, most creative roasts around a specific topic.
Each market is:
  • Created by brands (for now) with creators and community-hosted markets coming soon.
  • Time-bound: runs for 7 days by default, with options to extend.
  • Backed by a reward pool: can include USDC, tokens, or special perks.
  • Ranked in real time: every roast earns Roast Scores, displayed on a live leaderboard.
As the market heats up:
  • Roasts earn Roast Scores
  • The community’s collective attention builds the Heat Score which reflects how much cultural energy the topic is generating.
  • Once the Heat Threshold is reached, what happens next is [REDACTED]
In simple terms:
A Roast Market is where the internet’s viral attention turns into cultural formation, where jokes, memes, and fun rivalries evolve into Roast Capital Markets.

Roaster Scoring Framework

1. Roast Score: “Proof of Attention”

Each roast earns a Roast Score, updated in real time based on:
  • Engagement: bookmarks, quote tweet, retweet, comments, likes (each weighted accordingly)
  • Quality: humor & relevance, evaluated through our State-of-Roast AI Engine
  • Timing: early engagement counts more than late activity
  • Consistency: active roasters across multiple markets earn bonuses (e.g. ≥5 markets +3%)
In simple terms:
A roast that’s funny, fast-growing, and widely loved will always outrank spammy or late ones.
Why it matters
  • Keeps competition fair across markets
  • Rewards creativity, not bots
  • Prevents people from farming engagement

2. Roast Mindshare: “Your Cultural Reputation”

Roast Mindshare measures how much of the total attention you command, both within a specific Roast Market and across all markets during a set time window.
It updates dynamically as your Roast Scores evolve, reflecting your influence in real time.
In simple terms:
Mindshare is your cultural reputation, the share of collective attention your roasts capture.
Types
  • Market Mindshare: your attention share within a single market.
  • Global Mindshare: your total share across all markets in a given period.

3. Heat Score: “Market Momentum”

Each Roast Market has a Heat Score, representing how alive it is.
It depends on:
  • Number of roasts (how much activity)
  • Number of unique roasters (how many participants)
  • Total Roast Score (how strong the content is)
In short:
More people roasting + funnier roasts = higher Heat Score.
This score is shown within the roast market, so everyone can watch the “temperature” rise.

4. Heat Threshold: “REDACTED”

When a Roast Market gets too hot to handle and its Heat Score crosses the Heat Threshold, something fun unlocks.
Keep roasting, soon the Heat Threshold will unlock your Roast Earning Arc Money-Mouth Face

5. Fair Play System

To keep the game real and the competition fair:
  • Diversity Bonus: more unique engagers = stronger boost.
  • Decay: older roasts gradually fade if no new engagement is happening, keeping the leaderboard fresh and competitive.
  • Quality Gating: off-topic or spammy posts score zero and aren’t synced on the platform.
Only real, creative, and community-driven roasts rise to the top.

6. Rewards

At the end of every Roast Market, rewards are distributed proportionally within performance tiers, based on each roast’s final Roast Score.
Each roast (not the roaster as a whole) is individually scored and assigned to a tier, ensuring that every submission has an independent chance to perform well, even if the same roaster has multiple entries.
The Roast Score already accounts for both humor quality (via the AI Roast Engine) and performance on X (bookmarks, quote tweet, retweet, comments, likes). This ensures that rewards go to roasts that are genuinely funny and widely engaging.
Because the Roast Score evolves in real-time, early roasters gain an advantage, their roasts have more time to accumulate organic engagement before the market closes.
However, the system’s time-decay and quality weighting ensure that late but exceptional roasts can still outperform weaker early entries.
Once a market ends, the system freezes all Roast Scores, automatically assigns each roast to its performance tier, and calculates proportional earnings.
For the initial few Roast Markets, a 30-minute buffer period is applied after the deadline, allowing the team to manually review the distribution and ensure that rewards are fair and accurate before finalizing. After this review, roasters can claim their rewards directly on the platform.
